چکیده

Background Left bundle branch block (LBBB) is a condition associated with increased mortality and poor prognosis, depending on the underlying etiology. Identification of the etiology and appropriate risk stratification of patients with LBBB is a challenge, despite the availability of various testing modalities. Nuclear exercise stress testing can show artificial perfusion defects in the interventricular septum. The artifacts are reduced but not completely excluded by use of vasodilator stress agents. In this study, we retrospectively reviewed the stress cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) findings in patients with LBBB.

A LARGE BRAIN HYDATID CYST AND CARDIAC INVOLVEMENT

Echinococcosis is endemic in many sheep-raising areas of the world. Cardiac involvement in patients with hydatid disease is uncommon (<2%). Here, we report a 30-year-old shepherd from Oshnavie, West Azarbaijan who was presented with right hemiparesis and admitted in neurosurgery ward of Imam Khomeini Hospital, Urmia, Iran because of a large cystic lesion in brain MRI. There was left bundle bran...

Cine DENSE MRI detects delayed mechanical activation of the left ventricular free wall in a canine model of heart failure with left bundle branch block

Background Cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT) benefits selected heart failure patients; however, CRT has a nonresponse rate of approximately 30-40%. Important factors that contribute to lead placement decisions and overall CRT success include determination of mechanical dyssynchrony, presence and location of scar, and the identification of late-activated segments. Recent imaging studies ha...

Usefulness of Dipyridamole Myocardial Perfusion SPECT in Patients with Left Bundle Branch Block

Background: Diagnosis of coronary artery disease (CAD) in patients with left bundle branch block (LBBB) is considered as a challenge in cardiology due to the low accuracy of noninvasive methods such as basal and stress electrocardiography (ECG). This diagnostic challenge can be reduced but not eliminated using dipyridamole as a stress method instead of exercise. The aim of this study was to ass...

Stress echocardiography in special groups: in women, in left bundle branch block, in hypertension and after heart transplantation.

The non-invasive diagnosis of coronary artery disease by exercise electrocardiography is less accurate in women than in men, with a high rate of false-positive results in women. In contrast, recent studies have demonstrated that stress echocardiography in women is more accurate than exercise echocardiography and that the significantly higher specificity of stress electrocardiography may have th...

Prognostic value of vasodilator myocardial perfusion imaging in patients with left bundle-branch block.

BACKGROUND The prognostic value of tomographic myocardial perfusion imaging with dipyridamole or adenosine in patients with left bundle-branch block has not been established. METHODS AND RESULTS The study group consisted of 245 patients with left bundle-branch block who underwent tomographic (single photon emission tomography) myocardial perfusion imaging with thallium-201 (n=173) or techneti...
